The Miami Heat Allegedly Looking To Sign Free-Agent Wizards Star
After losing in the NBA Finals, Miami is looking for a top scorer. Will Washington deal with Bradley Beal this summer?
As the team considers a total rebuild, the Wizards‘ star shooting guard might be on the move this offseason. According to reports, Beal and the Wizards will cooperate to find the three-time All-Star a new home, and he may have a preference for a club that has recently returned from the NBA Finals.
Miami is among Beal’s preferred trade destinations because he played collegiate basketball at the University of Florida. And after the Denver Nuggets restricted the Miami Heat to fewer than 100 points in four of the five Finals games, the Heat is searching for a top-tier scoring guard.
According to some sources, Miami is linked to prospective free agent Kyrie Irving, but the Heat appears to favor a different type of scorer and floor general.
Competition from a rival in the East?
The Milwaukee Bucks, who are trying to revamp their squad following a shocking first-round playoff defeat to Erik Spoelstra‘s group, maybe one of Miami’s rivals for Beal.
Like the Heat, who are looking for a new premium scoring option to pair with Jimmy Butler, the Bucks, who recently hired Adrian Gryphon as their head coach, are looking for a new running partner for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Even though the cost would be high, neither club could do much worse than trade for Beal. In each of the previous five seasons, Beal averaged at least 23 points per game, with two of those seasons seeing him average more than 30 points per night.
