After the country’s lack of success in the Canadian Open, it is understandable that Adam Hadwin wanted to celebrate with his buddy and fellow Canadians. But at least one security guard at Toronto’s Oakdale Golf and Country Club didn’t have it on the green.
Hadwin was shot on the green by a security guard holding a bottle of champagne soon after Nick Taylor defeated Tommy Fleetwood in a four-hole playoff at the RBC Canadian Open.
It’s difficult to criticize the security guy, who made a fantastic tackle. He is responsible for stopping the man from approaching the golfer who won the competition, which is all he most likely witnessed.
Hadwin, who was there to celebrate Taylor’s historic victory because a Canadian had not won this tournament since 1954, was watching the last holes with fellow Canadians Mike Weir and Corey Conners.
“Corner of my eye, I saw he got a nice tackle there.” “I hope he’s alright. He was upright when I saw him later. So I hope he doesn’t wake up tomorrow morning with broken ribs.” Nick Taylor
The good news is that Hadwin is unharmed and appears to be enjoying the situation.
With a final-round score 68, Hadwin moved up to 11-under for the week and tied for 12th place. Other than Taylor, he had the best performance among the Canadian competitors. The 2017 Valspar Championship was Hadwin’s only Tour victory. He is 35 years old. This year, Hadwin has been in the top 10 four times.
In a four-hole playoff, Taylor defeated Fleetwood to earn his third Tour title. With a crazy 72-foot eagle putt, he secured the victory.
