Tuesday’s Yankees Victory over The Blue Jays Resulted in The Ejection of Domingo Germán
Domingo Germán, a pitcher for the New York Yankees, was fined and given a 10-game ban on Wednesday for breaking the league’s foreign drug policies.
The suspension of Germán will begin immediately, and he won’t contest it. May 28’s game against the San Diego Padres will mark his comeback to the lineup.
Following the team’s 6-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday, Germán was punished after being dismissed in the fourth inning. Crew leader James Hoye remarked that Germán had the “stickiest hand I’ve ever felt.”
“My fingers had a hard time coming off his palm.”

Officials had questioned Germán for breaking the foreign substance regulation twice this season, and Tuesday’s expulsion represented that second occurrence. Hoye’s staff saw him during a start he made against the Minnesota Twins last month, but he was permitted to continue playing.
Major League Baseball has had two such ejections this season, including Germán’s. On April 20, Max Scherzer of the New York Mets was suspended.
Before being booted from Tuesday’s victory, Germán retired the game’s first nine batters. He said it was merely rosin on his hand.
“It was just the rosin bag.” “It was sweat and the rosin bag. I don’t need any extra help to grab the baseball.”

In nine starts this season—his sixth with the Yankees—Germán, 30, has a 2-3 record. He has tossed 48 innings with an ERA of 3.75. The Yankees have a history of 25-20 overall after losing 3-0 to the Blue Jays on Wednesday in the third game of a four-game series. On Sunday, Luis Severino is anticipated to replace Germán in the starting lineup.
“He went over the line that the umpires deemed, and now we’ve got to live with the consequences of that.” “No one player needs to carry this load. We’ll share it all, and we’ll do it together.”
