Before playing three terrific seasons at the University of Toledo, Shumate was a two-year star at Walsh University and named a Division I All-Ohioan in 2018 for Newark. After guiding the Rockets to the MAC regular season title, he was selected to the Mid-American Conference first team last winter.
One of the most productive players in the nation, J.T. Shumate averaged 16 points and roughly 5 rebounds per game last year. He made 87% of his free throws and shot 54% from the field, 40% from 3-point range, and 40% overall.
In another game slated for NBA TV on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., Toronto takes on Cleveland. The Raptors’ final two preseason games, against Brooklyn on July 13 at 5 p.m. and Detroit on Wednesday at 6 p.m., will be aired on ESPN2.
