Ayo Dosunmu Is One Of The “Best Remaining NBA Free Agents”
The Chicago Bulls have been active this summer despite not signing any stars in free agency or the draft. They added two quality free agents, Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig, who should provide the top-tier club depth: they re-signed Nikola Vucevic and Coby White to new contracts.
The Chicago Bulls have been active this summer despite not signing any stars in free agency or the draft. They added two quality free agents, Jevon Carter and Torrey Craig, who should provide the top-tier club depth: they re-signed Nikola Vucevic and Coby White to new contracts.
They still need to finish all of their summertime work, though. Chicago still has to complete various tasks, including resolving internal issues. Ayo Dosunmu‘s free agency is the most pressing of these scenarios because the point guard is a restricted free agent and has yet to reach a deal with the Bulls.
Ayo Dosunmu had a promising rookie year in 2021–2022 but did not build on it this past season by making notable strides. He is, nevertheless, a good defender who may give the Bulls guard depth.
But, surprisingly, we haven’t heard anything regarding Dosunmu’s free agency. Would the Bulls match an offer sheet from another team if they received it? That has to be addressed severely at this time.
Ayo Dosunmu is considered one of the most excellent free agents still on the market by Yahoo Sports’ Eric Mullin.
“The Bulls have re-signed Coby White and brought in Jevon Carter so far, but fellow guard Dosunmu remains on the market,” Mullin wrote. “The 2021-22 Second Team All-Rookie selection averaged 8.6 points in 26.2 minutes per game last season, shooting 49.3% from the field. The 23-year-old’s 3-point percentage dipped from 37.6% to 31.2% in Year 2.”
