A member must introduce you if you wish to be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Pau Gasol will do so on August 12 with the support of two A-list sponsors. It was already known that Tony Kukoc, one of the greatest players in European basketball history and a man to whom Pau was frequently likened in his early years, would be engaged. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will also be present; this has already been confirmed.
The Hall of Fame event for Pau was something the illustrious center of the Bucks and Lakers wanted to attend because he is good friends with Pau. Jabbar was one of the greatest players in NBA history. He served as LeBron James‘ mentor while playing in Los Angeles and held the record for most points scored in a single season before being surpassed this year.
When the Los Angeles Lakers retired Pau’s jersey a few months ago, he had reached the peak of his professional career. American society accords the prestige of becoming a member of the Hall of Fame with the same significance as if he had received another ring. Thus, there was still a far more significant step to take.
Jason Kidd and Steve Nash (Dirk Nowitzki), Allen Iverson (Dwyane Wade), David Robinson, Manu Ginóbili, Tim Duncan and Tony Parker (Gregg Popovich), Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan (Tony Parker) or Sheryl Swoopes and Teresa Weatherspoon (Becky Hammon) will also serve as ‘presenters’ of the new members of the class of 2023.
