Christian Encarnacion-Strand Finally Called, Race to Waiver Wire

The Cincinnati Reds have drew another potential star from the organization’s vast skill pool. Christian Encarnacion-Strand was promoted a few weeks later than planned, and he should be installed right away in the heart of an already deadly Reds lineup.

People, this is an actionable fantasy event. Go get CES if he’s still available in your league (he’s presently 39% rostered in many Fantacy leagues). He has a strong chance to make a difference in four different hitting categories. His power potential is substantial:

This season, Encarnacion-Strand has been a terror at Triple-A Louisville, slashing.331/.405/.637 with 20 home runs among his 43 extra-base hits. He’s driven in 62 runs and scored 65 while playing first, third, and both corner outfield positions.

He hit 32 home runs and had a.955 OPS in three minor league appearances last year. The 23-year-old has five consecutive multi-hit games, so he’s been on a roll over the last week.

Cincinnati should have no trouble finding daily opportunities for CES, since DH and right field have been two of the team’s lightest-hitting positions all season.

The Reds were swept by the Brewers in their first series after the All-Star break, scoring only three runs. Encarnacion-Strand should give his real-life team and your fantasy team a substantial power boost.
