After suffering from significant health issues, including having his brain impacted by a stroke, his wife, Linda, informed the public about her husband’s demise.

In her interview with the BBC, Linda said, “He was recovering from that at home when he developed colitis, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease, which later turned into sepsis; that’s what killed him.”

According to Linda, she is still coping with the circumstances. “It all came about so quickly. I’ve still not come to terms with it yet.”

After overcoming throat cancer, he continued to wrestle until his retirement in 2014. For more than 50 years, he continued to be active.
