Paige Spiranac Got ‘ANGRY’ After Being Likened To Trevor Lawrence
The well-known influencer released a video of herself with a headband like Lawrence’s and declared that she would burn the accessory.
Paige Spiranac responded on social media after some claimed that a recent video she was in reminded them of Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
The well-known influencer released a video of herself with a headband like Lawrence’s and declared that she would burn the accessory.
Captioning the video was advised by Spiranac. “Someone said I looked like Trevor Lawrence, and I can’t unsee it now. LOL, brb, burning this headband, but enjoy the picks.”
When the NFL player was embroiled in a contentious incident a few years ago, Spiranac brought up Lawrence once again. After hearing a female reporter criticize Lawrence’s mustache, Spiranac lamented the “double standards” in the media.
When a female reporter questioned Clemson Tigers quarterback Lawrence during a press conference, it made him feel awkward during the post-game interview.
Lawrence and the rest of the crowd heard the reporter remark on Lawrence’s looks after she accidentally left her microphone on during a private follow-up remark.
Spiranac said on her podcast, “It was funny, but it made me think if a male reporter had done that to a female, the amount of outrage that would have come out of that would have been insane.”
“We’re always commenting on men, always focusing on women’s looks. Can you imagine if a guy said, ‘Oh, I wish she did something with her hair, something a little different’? “We would comment on double standards, saying, ‘I can’t believe that would say that, and ‘focus on my achievements instead of my looks.’ It happens with men too.”
“Do you think we’re taking it too seriously when someone doesn’t like how we wear our hair or makeup? We always say, ‘Oh, it’s sexist’ and this or that.”
“Maybe it’s just a personal dislike of that sort of style, and it’s not always as deep as we make it out to be. I thought that was really funny. We have to pick our battles, and that was not one of them.”
