Panthers Signed Wide Receiver Ihmir Smith-Marsette
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Smith-Marsette was dealt to the Carolina Panthers along with a pair of conditional seventh-round draft selections in 2025.
Before the start of the regular season, the Kansas City Chiefs had already started to make moves in preparation for roster cutdown day and depth chart reduction. Despite his strong performance as a wide receiver, Ihmir Smith-Marsette might have yet to make the Chiefs’ depth chart.
During training camp, Smith-Marsette was one of several gifted receivers competing for a spot on the Chiefs’ roster. He recorded nine receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns throughout three games, making an excellent preseason total.
There is intrigue in completing a deal with Kansas City since the Panthers have several injuries at the position. The Chiefs still need to make more transactions to fill their regular-season roster.
