Due to Aday Mara’s inability to attend the Wednesday medical exam established by Casademont Zaragoza, the legal system will become involved.

After making the unilateral choice to end the contract and join the UCLA squad of the American university, the judge’s ruling will determine how to resolve his contractual standing with the team.

The information was made available during the press conference presenting Jose Antonio Artigas as the new general manager of the Zaragoza-based club.

Artigas regrets signing Aday Mara’s contract

Artigas expressed his sadness for the scenario with Mara, whose contract was first signed in September 2020 and ran through the 2026–2027 campaign.

Aday, who was underage then, and his parents and other representatives signed the deal.

Artigas underlined the course of events. Mara informed the club of his decision to go, followed by his social media declaration that he would attend the University of California-Los Angeles and his absence from today’s scheduled medical exams.

He apologized for their inability to reach a more traditional conclusion and revealed his regret at learning of Aday Mara’s choice to discontinue.

In contrast to the current circumstances, Artigas emphasized that Basket Zaragoza is a club that upholds its promises and has let many players go with legal contracts throughout its 21-year history.
