What is NBA All-Star Weekend?
The NBA All-Star Weekend is a mid-season celebration of the league and is typically held over a three-day period in February. This time around, the event will be held on February, 17, 18, and 19 at Vivint Arena Salt Lake City, Utah.
The star-studded affair features a variety of events, such as the Celebrity Game, Rising Stars Game, Skills Challenge, Three-Point Contest, Slam Dunk Contest, and the All-Star Game itself.
NBA All-Star Weekend Roster
The schedule for the All-Star Weekend, typically announced a few weeks before the event, is finalized through fan voting, player voting, and commissioner’s selections. It typically includes the following events:
Friday
Celebrity Game: It’s a fun, non-competitive game between celebrities, former NBA players, and WNBA players.
Rising Stars Game: The game features the best first and second-year players in the league. They are divided into teams based on the location of their birth (either the US or the World).
Saturday
Skills Challenge: The league’s best guards take up this challenge to test their ball-handling, passing, and shooting skills.
Three-Point Contest: A competition to see who can make the most three-pointers in a given time period.
