Amazon Prime Signs 10-Year Broadcast Deal with NBA

Amazon Prime has signed a multi-billion-dollar broadcast deal with the National Basketball Association (NBA), putting pressure on existing broadcasters – TNT and NBC.

The landmark deal in sports history will make the streaming platform one of the homes to NBA games, the Athletics reported citing sources.

It is expected that Prime Video’s package will include significant regular-season and postseason games, perhaps even some conference finals. The anticipation is that the final contract will be for at least a decade and begin the 2025-2026 season.

The development comes a day after Puck reported that ESPN/ABC a framework of a deal with the expectations that an agreement would be completed.

ESPN/ABC might keep the NBA Finals on its networks for the duration of its deals. ESPN’s contract also is expected to last for 10 years.
