Andrew Wiggins After Missing 21 Games For the Warriors, to Return “Early This Week”
Since February 13, Andrew Wiggins, a forward with the Golden State Warriors, has been absent from the group. Yet he is nearing his destination again.
Wiggins is anticipated to rejoin the Warriors “early this week,” according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
For family-related reasons, Wiggins has missed 21 games. During his absence, no more information was provided. His dad, Mitchell Wiggins, “has been coping with a major medical condition,” according to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic.
The reigning champs, who have three more regular-season games left, currently held the sixth spot in the Western Conference when the news of Wiggins’ likely come back broke.
This week, the Warriors played two games. According to Charania, Wiggins intends to “attend” the Tuesday game between the Warriors and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On Friday, Golden State will go to Sacramento to play the Kings.
During Tuesday’s victory against the New Orleans Pelicans, Stephen Curry addressed inquiries regarding Wiggins’ condition.
“We’d love to have him and hope that that does happen (his return). We want to be whole and I’m sure that he wants to be a part of this,” Curry said. “But when he walks through the door is when it’ll be the right time.”

Curry said he gave Wiggins space rather than staying in touch with him frequently.
Last season, the 28-year-old All-Star scored 17.2 points per game while shooting 39.3% from beyond the arc for the Warriors.
Before this season began, he and Golden State agreed on a four-year, $109 million contract extension.
This season, Wiggins continued where he left off. He averaged 17.1 points, five rebounds, and 2.3 assists throughout the 37 games he played before vacation, despite scoring 39.6% from the 3-point range and 47.3% from the floor.

To keep up his conditioning, Wiggins “has been working out every day” and “training on his own,” according to Warriors head Coach Steve Kerr.
