Asuka, a Japanese Wrestler 0-5 at WrestleMania, Loses Again Amid Controversy
After another defeat at WrestleMania, Japanese wrestler Akusa has become the target of much resentment. Akusa lost at WrestleMania 39 this past weekend, scoring 0-5 overall.
She is referred to as the Empress of Tomorrow and underwent a character makeover, gaining the opportunity to challenge RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair in a bout in which Belair prevailed.
Despite becoming the inaugural Women’s Royal Rumble winner, she lost to Charlotte Flair on her debut five years ago. She was ousted in the battle royal the following year.
Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defeated them after she paired up with Kairi Sane. She missed the event in Dallas the previous year after being defeated by Rhea Ripley two years prior.
Many fans believe it is unfair of the sport to constantly get in the way of Akusa enjoying her winning WrestleMania moment.
“Is Akusa’s current score 0–5? She merits so much more, “a fan stated. Some even urged her to go back to Japan.
Another person remarked, “Akusa needed this victory and this WrestleMania moment since she had never triumphed on the main stage; instead, she now has a record of 0-5.”
A specific, irritated Twitter user outlined the adverse effects of this on the program.
You won’t ever let Asuka have her Mania moment, and this is one of the most BORING titles in women’s history,” the tweet’s first line said. And further added, “0-5 at Mania, like, give me a break.” We are in Biancas territory, FFS.”
Another supporter said that WWE keeps making her lose her biggest match and elevating her persona to send her back down the card.
WWE may now use the Asuka and Bianca Belair feud beyond WrestleMania, and fans will be watching with interest. At Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico, they may square off again.
