Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura of the Los Angeles Lakers Will Receive Compensation
Bingo! If you have the Los Angeles Lakers’ Rui Hachimura as the team’s best scorer in the playoffs, you can win! Hachimura is currently tied with LeBron James for the team lead in scoring at 24.5 points per game, and unfortunately for the Grizzlies, he has seemingly resolved not to miss from three for the rest of the playoffs.
No doubt that Austin Reaves can team’s primary offensive option down the stretch too.

L.A.’s bench players have been instrumental in the team’s split of its first two games in Memphis.

The 25-year-old has shot 7-of-10 from deep (70.0 percent), which isn’t too surprising given that Hachimura shot 9-of-15 (60.0 percent) from deep in the 2021 playoffs with the Washington Wizards.
For a period in the fourth quarter of Game 1, Reaves carried the scoring load, netting clutch shot after clutch basket as the Lakers drew away for the win despite the presence of James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell. So far in LA’s first two games, he’s averaging 17.5 points (tied with Davis), 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 50% from deep.
This comes at a great time for both parties, as restricted free agency will soon be upon them. Both players have been rewarded handsomely financially and may prove to be pivotal in the Lakers’ ability to pull off the first-round upset.
Rui Hachimura
Japanese professional basketball player Rui Hachimura (Hachimura Rui; b. February 8, 1998) currently suits up for the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers.
He was a member of the Gonzaga Bulldogs and the Japan national basketball team. He’s capable of filling in at small forward or power forward.
His 2020 selection to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team follows his selection by the Washington Wizards with the ninth overall pick in the 2019 NBA drafts.
Hachimura, who was born in Toyama Prefecture, was a standout player for the Japanese under-17 and under-19 national teams in FIBA competition, and he led Meisei High School to three consecutive All-Japan High School Tournament titles.
When he signed with Gonzaga in 2016, he became only the fifth player in NCAA Division I history to be born in Japan.
The following year, he made history by being the first Japanese national to compete in the NCAA Division I Men’s Tournament.
He was named to the All-WCC first team as a sophomore. He is among the top three candidates for Naismith Player of the Year.
