Blue Jays Player Claims That Aaron Judge’s Reaction To The Pitch-Tipping Controversy “A Lie”
Chris Bassitt, a pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays, discussed the issue surrounding Aaron Judge, the star of the New York Yankees, who was seen looking toward the dugout before blasting a home run in one of their games earlier this month.
Although Judge was suspected of cheating, he insisted that he overheard heckling coming from the dugout throughout the sequence against Blue Jays pitcher Jay Jackson. It was later claimed that Jackson was allegedly tipped up about pitches to Judge in real-time. Jackson acknowledged that he tipped pitches while the game was in progress.
On Monday, Bassitt spoke about the controversy during an appearance on Chris Rose‘s show.
“Yeah, we knew what was going on. So, I’ll say this about the whole situation: They knew we were tipping, and they were relaying tips. Is that illegal? No, it’s not illegal.”
“Is it kind of in that gray area of, like, all right, if the first base and third base coaches are having to relay tips, is that kind of a gray area where it’s like, should that be allowed for first and third base coaches to do? You can argue that back and forth all you want.”

When manager Aaron Boone was dismissed, Judge stated he was annoyed by the “chirping” in the dugout.
“I don’t see why it’s a story, to be honest.”
According to Aaron Judge, the New York Daily News.
Bassitt declared he didn’t think Judge’s claim was valid.
“Judge’s response to it? I had no problem with it. Was it a lie? Yeah, it was a lie. … What do you want him to do? Come out and say, ‘Hey, all their pitchers were tipping and I’m gonna tell them how they’re tipping.’ I just think he kind of made up a story just to basically kind of say like I’m not gonna tell them they’re tipping. Like, why would I say that?”

On the season, Toronto was 28-26 as of Tuesday morning. New York scores 33-23. Only in September do the two squads square off once more.
