Boston Celtics Are Up In Latest NBA All-Star Game Fan Vote Results
There is a good chance that one or two Boston Celtics players will be selected as reserves for the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, but at least one starter will represent the team.
Half of the votes are cast by fans, 25% by the media, and 25% by players who decide who starts as an All-Star. The 30 head coaches vote on the reserves.
Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics is ranked third among frontcourt players in the Eastern Conference with almost 4 million votes, according to the third round of All-Star fan voting results released by the league on Thursday. In the race for the third and last frontcourt starting slot in the East, he enjoys a commanding lead over Jimmy Butler of around 2.5 million votes. In terms of frontcourt voting, the actual query is if Tatum can pass Joel Embiid, the center for the Philadelphia 76ers, for second place.
When it comes to frontcourt players, Jaylen Brown of the Celtics and Kristaps Porzingis of the Knicks are ranked fifth and sixth, respectively. Although there won’t be a guard starting for Boston in the All-Star Game, Derrick White and Jrue Holiday are seventh and ninth in the rankings for the position, respectively.
The Indiana Pacers are set to host this year’s All-Star Game on Sunday, February 18. As of Thursday afternoon, below are the complete returns for both conferences.
There is no doubt that Tatum and Brown should play in the All-Star Game. While Brown was chosen in 2021 and 2023, Tatum has been chosen four times in a row. Porzingis also makes a compelling argument. In his debut season with the C’s, he has been a very productive player. In addition to recording career highs in several metrics, White has had outstanding defensive play.
As of Thursday, the Celtics stand atop the league with a record of 32-9. Several players should represent them at the All-Star Game because they are the best team in the league.
