Cam Newton Criticized Zach Wilson During New York Jets’ Playoff Drive
The team is now dependent on Zach Wilson, who isn’t playing up to par, because of Aaron Rodgers’ injury.
Even though Aaron Rodgers‘ injury in Week 1 raised rumors that Cam Newton may sign a short-term contract with the New York Jets, the quarterback is still without a team in the NFL.
Though Zach Wilson has subsequently had uneven play, the Jets chose to disregard such rumors and continued to believe in the previous first-round draft selection.
There are worries that this season will be another wasted year at MetLife Stadium since the Jets are probably going to miss the playoffs with their current 4-4 record in a division that also includes the elite Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.
The Jets’ play this season has been criticized by Cam Newton, who feels that the team’s chances of making the playoffs are dwindling.
How did Cam Newton respond?
Even though it seems like he hasn’t been paying much attention to the Jets’ 2023 season, the former star of the Carolina Panthers wasn’t shy in criticizing the team’s performance.
On his ‘4th and 1’ YouTube program, Newton said,
“I suppose we going to have to wait and watch sh*t. Everyone wants to see that cause progress, and I believe that patience is wearing thin. To be honest, I haven’t been following the Jets too closely, but when I saw them on Monday Night Football, down four points to three, I was taken aback. I thought, “Damn.” They are still being pursued.”
“Are you getting me? Coach Saleh deserves a big thanks for keeping these men in the game. The New York Jets’ defense is, quite literally, very offensive. When the defense generates 13 turnovers, it is very remarkable; yet, the offence also generates 13 turnovers.”
