Deshaun Watson Zealous About Cleveland’s Reunification With DeAndre Hopkins

Deshaun Watson expressed his wish for DeAndre Hopkins to go to Cleveland on Tuesday at a Brown’s charity event.

Despite knowing it’s ultimately out of his hands, Watson acknowledged to reporters that he had brought up the notion with the Browns organization: “That’s kind of out of my range of things,” he said. “All I can do is make a call and wait to see what happens.”

The Cardinals just released Hopkins, which makes a future reunion more likely. From 2017 until 2020, Watson and Hopkins shared the pitch in Houston, where they forged a strong bond. During their time together, Hopkins earned three All-Pro receiver awards.

Watson emphasized that he and Hopkins had remained friends even if they were no longer colleagues.

“Me and D-Hop, we just naturally talk.” “Since the Houston days, we’ve been chatting… He has always been one of my brothers. Our bond and friendship have always been incredible. We would undoubtedly adore having him. He is aware of it.”

Numerous teams are interested in Hopkins

Hopkins had a spectacular season in 2020, hauling 64 catches for 717 yards and three scores in only nine games. He has 11,298 receiving yards and 71 touchdowns in his ten-year career.

Despite the Browns‘ potential interest, Hopkins will compete with other teams interested in signing him. The New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy reports that the Bills, Chiefs, Bears, Patriots, and Lions are among the clubs mentioned as prospective bidders.

Watson signed a rich five-year, $230 million contract with the Browns last summer and intended to affect the team’s success significantly. Watson has dealt with issues off the field and missed the 2021 season, but he is still enthusiastic about his future and the possibility of Hopkins joining the Browns.
