Ezekiel Elliott, Public Mocks Him After His Patriots Debut
Ezekiel Elliott made his competitive New England Patriots debut on Sunday. The running back had a promising start with a first rush of 11 yards, but things quickly turned negative for him.
Elliott was expected to regain his best form after joining the Patriots in the offseason.
But in the first quarter, he lost a crucial turnover in his zone, which allowed the Philadelphia Eagles to maintain their strong start and go on to win the game 25-20.
Elliott completed the game with seven carries for 29 yards and one turnover, which will not have pleased Bill Belichick. He did not score any touchdowns.
Ezekiel Elliott received harsh criticism on social media, and New England supporters weren’t thrilled either. The player admitted guilt for making a mistake early in the game.
“It’s unacceptable, as you can’t give the ball back to the defense like that. When you’ve got the ball in your hands, it’s like you’ve got the whole fate of the team in your hands, so you’ve just got to fix that. That’s not acceptable, putting the ball on the ground.”
