Giants Acquire Allen Robinson, A Seasoned Wide Receiver
On Thursday morning, the Giants signed veteran wide out Allen Robinson to bolster their depth at wide receiver.
The agreement’s terms were not made public.
Although Robinson, 30, was once selected for the Pro Bowl, his output has gradually decreased over the last three seasons. Robinson, who was originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the second round out of Penn State, has three seasons with 1,000 yards under his belt. His most recent one occurred in 2020 while playing for the Chicago Bears.
However, over the past three seasons, he has amassed 410, 339, and 280 yards, in that order. Last season, he started every one of the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ 17 games; yet, he only caught 34 receptions for a career-low average of 8.2 yards per reception.
Taking LSU’s Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the offseason, the Giants have already made a significant improvement to their receiving group. If Big Blue continues to restock Daniel Jones’ weaponry, Robinson might at the very least offer some seasoned coaching to players such as Nabers, Jalin Hyatt, and Wan’Dale Robinson.
