The World Baseball Classic 2023 has done better than expected, smashing numerous viewership records while showcasing thrilling games, all-star rosters, and great performances that kept spectators riveted.

There is still time for attendees to purchase tickets on the secondary market, even though Loan Depot Park in Miami, Florida, is sold out of tokens.

According to figures supplied by MLB, almost 500,000 more people attended the first round of the 2005 World Baseball Classic than in the first round of 2017.

It was increased from 16 to 20 clubs for this edition, with audience marks, ticket sales, and, consequently, the products sold in the stadiums.

WBC Champion to Receive $3 million

A source from the organizing committee stated that the ninth champion might win up to three million dollars, even if the 20 teams taking part in the WBC 2023 already knew they would receive a $300 bag just for showing up.

The teams’ prizes increased by $400,000 for making it to the quarterfinals, $300,000 for coming in first, and $500,000 and $500,000, respectively, for making it to the semifinals and finals, according to the earnings breakdown.

As a result of Mexico’s and Japan’s involvement, 1.5 million dollars have already been set aside. This amount might rise if one of the two makes it to the championship game and wins it, at which point they would each receive 3 million dollars.

Each national federation receives half the funds, with the remaining funds being divided equally among the national team’s players and personnel.
