Jordan Poole’s Biggest Pet Peeve Is The Golden State Warriors

After signing a significant deal with the Warriors only one year prior, the 24-year-old, Jordan Pool, was recently traded to the Washington Wizards.

Jordan Poole’s trade to the Washington Wizards by the Golden State Warriors earlier this summer surprised both fans and pundits.

The 24-year-old’s four-year contract deal with the Warriors, worth more than $123 million, expired only one year before the transfer.

Before the 2022–2023 NBA season, his status as Stephen Curry‘s successor as a player was altered entirely. Poole and Draymond Green fought at that point, leading to the veteran guard punching the inexperienced guard.

Green and Head Coach Steve Kerr said the event impacted the group and contributed to their early exit from the 2023 NBA Playoffs after the Los Angeles Lakers defeated them.

With Poole genuinely unable to make an impact, it was clear that there was a lack of trust inside the unit. He only managed to shoot 34.1 per cent from the field and 25.4 per cent from beyond the arc. He was dealt to the Wizards only a few weeks later.

Jordan Poole’s dispute with the Warriors

In addition to throwing the punch, rumors indicate that Poole was upset that the organization wasn’t treating him the same way as Curry, Green, and Klay Thompson.

Jason Dumas, an NBA insider, told The Morning Roast

“The punch was kind of like the cherry on top, but there was some festering way before that during the season that had nothing to do with the punch. He just wanted more playing time. He wanted to start, he wanted a role. Whether you think this is fair or not, he wanted to get treated like Steph, Klay, and Dray, and he noticed that, in his opinion, wasn’t equal treatment. He didn’t appreciate it.”

Poole will now get a fresh start in Washington with his last Warriors season behind him.
