Just three seasons into his career, Justin Jefferson has already accrued many accolades. Now, the Minnesota Vikings‘ wide receiver is an elite group member.

According to a Monday social media statement, Jefferson, 24, is the inaugural member of Madden NFL 24’s “99 Club.” It’s the highest rating a gamer in an officially endorsed video game can get.

Jefferson achieved a 93 rating last year; the 99 rating is his first. Now that Randy Moss has achieved a 98 overall rating in previous iterations of the game, he is the highest-rated receiver in Vikings history.

In 2022, Jefferson was the league’s top receiver with 128 catches for 1,809 yards. He has 476 grabs for 4,825 yards and 25 touchdowns in his career.

He has received several honors due to those statistics, but he used Twitter to emphasize the importance of the most recent one.

Jefferson used a couple of mind-blowing emojis during writing, “Y’all have no idea what it means to be a 99 in Madden!! Since I was 7y/o I been creating my own player making him a 99 and now I don’t have to.”

He received another honor only a few days ago: the ESPY for “Best Play.” In what has been dubbed “The Catch of the Century,” Jefferson made a breathtaking one-handed catch with the Minnesota Vikings facing a 4th-and-18 situation against the Buffalo Bills. The play preserved Minnesota’s lead before completing the 33-30 victory by snatching a probable interception from Cam Lewis for a first down.

Because of how stunning it was, the Pro Football Hall of Fame displayed his glove and arm sleeve in Canton. He spoke about his goals to continue doing more as he accepted the ESPY trophy on Wednesday.

“There’s so many things that I want to accomplish and things that I want to prove to myself.” “So this is the start of it, but there’s more to come for sure.”
