Bol Bol, a 7-foot-2 big man who was previously known largely as a meme on platforms like Twitter, had a great year but was waived by the Magic this week, one of the more surprise actions of the week.
After being traded twice from the Nuggets to the Magic, Manute Bol’s son finally saw regular playing time for the first time in his career last year.
In 21.5 minutes a game, he averaged a career-high 9.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks.
The Magic’s decision to release Bol is indicative of how far he still needs to go as a player, but his potential as a very long player who can allegedly stretch the floor (essentially a less-skilled Victor Wembanyama) will make him an attractive pickup for certain teams.

According to the article, there has been no progress towards a long-term extension. This would allow Bridges to finish the season in Charlotte and become a free agent after the 2020 season.
After being arrested for domestic violence last offseason, Bridges will begin the upcoming season serving the last 10 games of a 30-game NBA suspension.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Jordan Clarkson has agreed to a three-year, $55 million contract extension with the Utah Jazz, locking up the second-leading scorer from a surprising offence that ranked 10th in offensive efficiency last season.
The extension is the result of Clarkson’s decision earlier this week to exercise his player option worth $14.3 million for next season, laying the groundwork for a continuation of the successful partnership between player and team since Clarkson’s midseason trade to Utah.

According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Phoenix Suns have agreed to terms with guard Eric Gordon, giving them a valuable rotational element in their backcourt.
Given the Suns’ salary circumstances, it’s likely that Gordon signed for the veteran minimum, though the specifics of the deal have yet to be disclosed.

Dillon Brooks, a forward who was just released from the Memphis Grizzlies without much fanfare, has found a new team.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Brooks and the Houston Rockets have settled on a four-year, $80 million contract.
A sign-and-trade, the transaction will allegedly provide the Grizzlies with a sizable trade exception for the future.
Brooks, now 27, spent a productive six seasons in Memphis, culminating in an All-Defensive second team nod with the NBA.

According to a report by Yahoo Sports’ Vince Goodwill on Saturday, Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard has officially (and, some would argue, finally) sought a trade to a team with a better chance of winning a championship within the next five years.
The Miami Heat and the Brooklyn Nets are reportedly the only two teams on Lillard’s preferred destinations list, according to Goodwill.
Lillard, now 32 years old, was drafted sixth overall by the Blazers in 2012 and has been with the team ever since. From 2014 till the end of the 21st season, they made the playoffs thanks in large part to him.
After the Blazers were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs in 2020, many people began to wonder if he still wanted to play for the team.

Hornets and LaMelo Ball reach a maximum 5-year contract agreement
The Charlotte Hornets have signed LaMelo Ball to be their star player.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Hornets and Ball have reached an agreement on a five-year max rookie extension worth up to $260 million.
This is the first time the Hornets have signed a contract like this since Michael Jordan purchased the team in 2010. During the Jordan era, no other draftee signed a maximum extension to his rookie deal.
