NFL Games: Le'Veon Bell's Remarks On Marijuana Use Are Discussed By OJ Simpson

Le’Veon Bell’s revelation that he used marijuana before NFL games shocked and confused many people in the American football community, even those who are a part of it.

Although he has now unofficially retired from the sport, Bell has been among the best running backs in the NFL for the past ten years. He recently admitted that he frequently smoked marijuana, even before a game, and continued to play at an exceptionally high level.

“Looking back on this, that’s what I did… When I was playing football, I smoked, bro. Even before the games, I’d smoke, and I’d go out there and run for 150 [touchdowns].”

Bell stated on the “Steel Here” podcast.

OJ Simpson, a Pro Football Hall of Fame member, appeared stunned by Bell’s statement based on how he responded.

“This morning I woke up and I was watching a sports show, and they were talking about Le’Veon Bell, talking about smoking pot before the game.”

“I gotta be honest, I’ve never known anybody to smoke pot before a game, and it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of it that a guy smoked pot before he went out on the field.”

Simpson said this in opening a video posted to his social media.

In response to a query on why he finds it difficult to believe that Le’Veon Bell once smoked cannabis before a game, he said:

“In any case, I cannot think of a running back, Le’Veon Bell, it’s hard to imagine that he could smoke pot before he went out there and carried the ball. Simply put, it slows you down. Even though I have to concede that he was a very patient runner, your reflexes would slow down to the point where you couldn’t be successful.

“You know, I used to think I used to watch Le’Veon run, and he was kind of really patient slow to, you know, make his move type of runner, and so maybe he did. In any event, it’s hard for me to believe that you could. I’m just saying. Take care. I hope you had a good holiday.”
