It would appear that C.J. Gardner-Johnson is relieved to no longer be residing in Philadelphia.

During a livestream this week, the current Detroit Lions safety went on an expletive-filled rant targeting Eagles supporters.

Gardner-Johnson’s immediate response when asked to name the aspect of his lone season in Philadelphia he disliked most was “the people.”

Gardner-Johnson characterized them as “[expletive] obnoxious.” “I can’t [expletive] stand the [expletives].”

You can listen to Gardner-Johnson’s exact words if you like.

He’s right that Eagles supporters don’t have the best rep. Fans have had numerous, shall we say, hostile encounters with players, referees, announcers, and even Santa Claus.

A personal low point for Gardner-Johnson occurred after the Eagles’ playoff win against the New York Giants in January, when he reported that his automobile had been stolen.

“Wow. During an Instagram live broadcast on a Monday, he said, “Wow, that’s how y’all gettin down in Philly?” How about “after a win?”

Gardner-Johnson’s time on the field for the Eagles wasn’t terrible, save for the Super Bowl loss. Gardner-Johnson, who was acquired in a trade from the New Orleans Saints, led the NFL with six interceptions and made 67 tackles overall, including five for a loss.

He was out for the final five games of the season with a lacerated kidney, but he returned for Week 18 and all three playoff games for the Eagles.

Later, Gardner-Johnson agreed to join the Lions for this season on a one-year, $8 million deal.
