“They’re the top defense in the NFL, so it’s a great way to prepare. They have great players, great coaches, and Coach Belichick, obviously, it’s his system. Steve [Belichick] and Coach [Jerod] Mayo do a great job.” “So, it’s really hard to go against every day, sometimes frustrating. But at the same time, you got to go out there and compete and have fun. The Patriots‘ past season’s selling point was defense. They were rated as one of the top groups in the league. Only the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers had more interceptions (19), and the team finished third with 54 sacks overall.
To contend in the AFC East, New England will need to have another solid defensive season.
All three clubs should be as competitive as postseason candidates within their divisions. It can only be positive for the regular season that the Patriot’s defense had Jones work hard throughout training camp.
The Patriots will have a chance if the offence and defense play well.
