Major Players to Miss MLB Season First Game Due to Injuries
The new Major League Baseball season will begin on March 30, although some crucial players may be unable to play because of injuries. Pitcher Edwin Diaz of Puerto Rico suffered a recent injury during the jubilation after defeating the Dominican Republic.
Puerto Rican Edwin Diaz, who signed a five-year, 102 million-dollar contract, tore a tendon in his right knee and will miss the whole MLB season. The New York Mets will be without their top closer during this time.
Freddie Freeman Prepared for Opening Day
The Los Angeles Dodgers were among the first teams to experience a severe injury scare during the Baseball Classic after ace first baseman Freddie Freeman was forced to miss time due to an injury.
Freeman was forced to leave Canada’s World Baseball Classic due to a hamstring injury he received during a game against Colombia.
The Angels got excellent news with the diagnostic and said the Canadian player would be ready for the games leading up to Spring Training. He had reported to the Dodgers for examination.
On Saturday night, the disappointment of Venezuela’s relegation from the World Baseball Classic was compounded by Jose Altuve’s injury from a ball in his right hand.
The manager of Venezuela, Omar Lopez, admitted that he was worried about the health of the All-Star third baseman. Houston Astros general manager Dana Brown said that Altuve would be tested on the right hand and that a report wouldn’t be available until this Sunday.
But, Lopez remarked that he is concerned and depressed and angry. The Houston Astros will assess Jose in the coming days, so let’s wait for that. They will also provide a diagnostic of the problem.
