Matt Ryan, A Former NFL MVP, Will work As An Analyst For CBS But Won’t Be Retiring
Matt Ryan, a former NFL MVP, will work as an NFL commentator for CBS Sports, the network and Ryan said on Monday.
On Monday morning, Ryan sent a tweet from his Twitter account. He included a crucial disclaimer.
“Excited to join the @NFLonCBS family! Looking forward to breaking down the game this season.”
Ryan wrote in his tweet “P.S. – this is not a retirement post.”
Ryan has consented to serve as a studio and game commentator for CBS, but he hasn’t given up on his playing career, which lasted 15 seasons.
Ryan will commentate on programs including The NFL Today, That Other Pregame Show, NFL Monday QB, and CBS Sports HQ in addition to appearing at NFL on CBS games.

Ryan was awarded the 2016 NFL MVP, was chosen for four Pro Bowls, and led the Atlanta Falcons to six playoff appearances, including an NFC Championship and a spot in Super Bowl 51. Ryan has spent 14 of his 15 NFL seasons with the Atlanta Falcons. He also won the 2016 NFL MVP award.
In terms of passing yards, touchdowns, completions, attempts, and passer rating, Ryan holds the franchise record for the Falcons after being selected third overall in the 2008 NFL Draft.
With 62,792 passing yards, 381 touchdowns, 5,551 completions, and 8,464 passing attempts, Ryanâwho spent the previous season with the Indianapolis Coltsâranks among the top 10 quarterbacks in NFL history.
