Megan Rapinoe Identified USWNT As Most Awful Jon In World

‘Under Pressure’ on Netflix illuminates a little-known but crucial part of becoming the best at anything. In sports, a regular winning streak is expected; anything less is viewed as a failure.

Megan Rapinoe Identified USWNT As Most Awful Jon In World

The former captain played a significant role in the USWNT documentary.

After winning the World Cup in Edmonton in 2015 and Nice in 2019, Team USA appeared to be on the verge of making history by becoming the first squad to win the tournament three times in a row. Many believed that the outcome would be a formality for the ageing squad because of players like as Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan.

However, as Megan Rapinoe noted in her comments on “Under Pressure,” the weight of expectations became obvious.

She said in the documentary,

“I consistently declare it to be the worst job in the world because, should you perform your duties as expected, you will be severely criticized for doing any less.”

What caused the USWNT’s World Cup failure in 2023?

Top players and teams intentionally work to create an environment that encourages a winning attitude. The documentary highlighted this way of thinking, according to Coach Vlatko Andonovski.

“It’s actually win every single game. It is really easy to understand. You’re succeeding if you prevail. If not, it’s not up to par,” he continued.

These kinds of demands and high standards are quite uncommon in modern sport since they are sometimes seen as the price of long-term success, a problem that many sports dynasties have had to contend with.

When Team USA lost their first World Cup match since 2011, the weight of such hopes shattered.

In the Round of 16, Sweden prevented the USA from making a hat trick by winning on penalties, but in all honesty, the USA had played badly in almost every match throughout the tournament.

Despite playing one more match, Rapinoe said that this would be her final World Cup and that she would be retiring from the international scene.

Rapinoe played for the first fifty-four minutes, receiving a standing ovation when he was substituted off. He had an assist. Thinking back on the event, she thanked God for fulfilling her childhood ambition by describing it as an honor.

“As a former member of this team, it will be an honor for me to see this group maintain its current level of accomplishment.”
