“My client, Michael Jefferson, was fatally struck by a drunk driver on Easter night,”

according to the letter sent by Sohn.

Michael is a fighter, and he is still in good spirits despite all that has happened to him. Despite the fact that he is currently undergoing intensive rehabilitation, he is certain that he will have a successful NFL career.

We think it’s reasonable to be optimistic and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that a team will still pick up this fantastic kid and brilliant football talent.

Finally, we’d also want to use this occasion to remind everyone that, in this day and age of ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft, there is no excuse for drinking and driving.

Before the accident, Jefferson was projected to be selected in the fifth or sixth round. After the accident, he needed many operations.

The Car Wreck

Michael Jefferson, who had been projected as a first-round choice in the 2023 NFL Draft, was killed in a car accident, and authorities believe that a drunk driver was to fault.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, 55-year-old Michael Dunn was suspected of having opiates and alcohol in his body system at the time of his death following a fatal head-on collision with Jefferson on April 9 in Mobile County, Alabama.

Jefferson, a wide receiver for LSU, is 23 years old.

Reports indicate that authorities do not suspect Jefferson was under the influence when the tragedy happened.

However, the report fails to explain why police had such strong suspicions; a blood sample was obtained at the scene of the accident, but the findings have yet to be analyzed.

The police map shows that before hitting Jefferson’s 2019 Chevrolet Impala head-on, Dunn’s 2014 Dodge Charger veered into Jefferson’s lane.

A third car crashed into Jefferson’s after the original collision.

The police report states that Jefferson was traveling at speed of 75 mph in a 65 mph zone, while Dunn’s speed is noted as “Not Known.”

Jefferson, who was measured at 6-foot-4 and 199 pounds at the NFL Scouting Combine, completed the 40-yard sprint in 4.56 seconds.

In 2021, Jefferson moved from Alabama State to Louisiana.
