Mike Brown Took Out Laptop To Display Receipts For Referee Complaints
Mike Brown wasn’t present to see Damian Lillard’s heroics in overtime as the Bucks upset the Kings; he was dismissed in the fourth quarter for his dissatisfaction with the refereeing.
Brown upped the standard for post-game officiating tirades when he pulled out a laptop to display video clip receipts. Ejections frequently result in entertaining post-game news conferences.
It’s unfair to label this a tirade since Brown isn’t losing his cool; in fact, he’s collected, methodical, presented proof, and even gave the authorities some props.
Will that result in a fine for Brown? Of course. Is there anything the league will talk about in the Last Two Minute Report? It was not in the latter minutes of the game or overtime, as Mike Brown claimed.
There is more hostility between officials, coaches, and players. Effective interaction is often the key, but according to Brown, this officiating crew was excellent at communicating; it simply didn’t accomplish what it was supposed to.
Words, not actions. The gulf is widening, and it would be impossible to address its origins and possible remedies in a few phrases due to their complexity. But there are no simple solutions.
There won’t be many coaching outbursts from Mike Brown in the future, if any, but there will be more as things keep going in this direction.
