Saquon Rasul Quevis Barkley (born February 9, 1997) is a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Giants.
Barkley played college football at Penn State, where he established multiple all-time school marks for offensive productivity over three seasons before bypassing his senior year to enter the NFL in 2018.
Barkley placed fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting with 304 votes, third in the Maxwell Award voting, and garnered other national and Big Ten Conference honours and acclaim in 2017.
During his three-year collegiate career, Barkley set all-time Penn State records for all-purpose yards (5,538), rushing touchdowns (43), career receiving yards by a running back (1,157), rushing yards by a freshman and sophomore, and total yards in a single game.
Barkley was the Giants’ second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, and he set multiple NFL and franchise records en route to making the Pro Bowl and being awarded the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. Injuries plagued him throughout the 2020 season, but he was nominated to the Pro Bowl again in 2022.
