NFL.com Anticipates the Bills Receiving Compensatory Choice in 2024 NFL Draft
The Buffalo Bills are anticipated to earn an additional third-round pick at the 2024 NFL Draft, according to NFL.com.
According to the site, the Bills are anticipated to earn a compensatory selection due to losing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds. Edmunds joined the Chicago Bears after declaring himself a free agent in 2022.
There is no rigid rule that comp picks must follow. However, some of it depends on the number of free agents a team obtained and lost the previous year.
This year, there were 37 selections made between Rounds 3 and 7, and 16 NFL teams were given complimentary picks. Buffalo wasn’t one of them, but according to NFL.com, they will be the following year. After many trades and the anticipated compensatory pick, the Bills may have up to 10 selections in the 2024 draft.
The Bills will be given the additional pick, general manager Brandon Beane predicted earlier this offseason. The NFL will make that official announcement in the offseason following this one, but it seems probable that Beane will receive one additional selection.
