Nick Chubb Will Miss Entire Season Due To Knee Injury
Injuries to his left knee forced Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb to leave Monday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Deshaun Watson handed off to Chubb, who ran up the middle on first-and-goal from the Steelers’ eight-yard line early in the second quarter. To tackle Chubb at the five-yard line, Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick lunged at Chubb’s knees. Chubb quickly fell to the ground and grabbed Fitzpatrick’s left leg.
After a moment’s silence, Chubb was carried off the pitch amid cheers from Steelers supporters, who appeared to accept that the Pro Bowl running back for the Browns had sustained a significant injury, perhaps to his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. In 2015, representing the University of Georgia Bulldogs, Chubb had a severe knee injury with many ruptured ligaments.
Chubb was carried out in an air cast on his left leg, indicating that his injury is significant, even though further testing will be required to confirm it. Chubb had previously run for 64 yards on 10 attempts at Acrisure Stadium.
Stefanski affirms the most catastrophic scenario.
Chubb’s 2023 season is over after two games, according to Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, who announced the game.
According to Stefanski, Chubb’s knee injury is so severe that the top running back won’t be expected to return until 2024. This is a major setback for the Browns, who are aiming to return to the NFL playoffs this season.
After his injuries, Nick Chubb received backing from the whole sports community. NFL quarterbacks Kyler Murray and Trevor Lawrence used prayer emojis in their posts on X (previously Twitter), while NBA star LeBron James said he was “praying for the best.” Murray is also recovering from a knee ligament injury.
Another incident occurred on Monday night.
With Chubb’s alleged knee injury, ‘Monday Night Football’s star player will have to be helped off the pitch for the third straight week.
Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets ruptured his Achilles tendon during the first “MNF” telecast of 2023 when Leonard Floyd of the Buffalo Bills sacked him on the Jets’ fourth offensive play. The 39-year-old, though, will miss the entire regular season despite having a cutting-edge procedure that could somehow enable him to participate in the postseason.
On the field during a highly anticipated game against the Cincinnati Bengals on the final Monday Night Football telecast of 2022, Bills safety Damar Hamlin had a heart attack. Hamlin had to be revived at the stadium before being sent to a hospital in Buffalo, where he stayed for nine days before being released.
