On May 20, Joaquin Buckley Competes at Welterweight Against Andre Fialho

Joaquin Buckley will move back to his prior weight division.

According to promotion officials, Buckley (15-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC) will once again weigh 170 pounds to compete against Andre Fialho (16-6 MMA, 2-3 UFC) on May 20 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Following his defeat to Chris Curtis at UFC 282 in December of last year—his second straight loss—Buckley said that he would go down to welterweight. Earlier, “New Mansa” had won three matches in a row, including two knockout victories.

Fialho will attempt to end a losing streak of two matches. After stopping Miguel Baeza and Cameron VanCamp in consecutive first-round knockouts that earned him Performance of the Night honors, the Kill Cliff FC fighter was stopped by Jake Matthews and, most recently by, Muslim Salikhov in November.

Portuguese mixed martial artist Andre Fialho fights in the welterweight class. He was born in Porto, Portugal, on September 15, 1994, and got his start in martial arts at an early age. 2014,

Fialho made Fialho made his professional MMA debut and immediately became one of Europe’s top prospects.

His first six victories were all knockouts, including a significant triumph against former UFC fighter Che Mills. One of the biggest MMA organizations in the world, Bellator MMA, signed Fialho in 2017.
