Ons Jabeur Cried Over War Between Palestine And Israel

After winning the WTA Finals, Ons Jabeur was overcome with emotion.

After defeating Czech Marketa Vondrousova 6-4, 6-3 at the WTA Finals in Cancun, tennis player Ons Jabeur of Tunisia broke down in tears during the on-court interview.

The five-time WTA champion from Tunisia was asked if she was happy with the win, and she did not hesitate to share how much she has been struggling lately after learning about the events between Israel and Palestine. “I am extremely pleased with the victory but I have not been very pleased lately, everything that is happening in the world does not make me happy,” she replied.

Ons Jabeur halted there, unable to control her emotions. Her tears started to flow. She received hugs and cheers from the spectators. Her interviewer complimented her for her efforts on the court and emphasized to her how she might escape her worries via sport.

“Anything hurts so much to watch kids and newborns die every day, even if I wish I could do anything. It hurts so deeply. It is for this reason that I have chosen to give the Palestinians a portion of my reward money. With this triumph, I can’t be joyful,” Jabeur went on.

“Seeing videos every day is actually annoying, even if this is meant to be about tennis. I apologize; this message is about humanity, not politics. I desire world peace.” And with that, the Tunisian came to an end.
