One week after he smashed a two-run, walk-off home run for the Triple-A Louisville Bats in the bottom of the 9th inning in a 5-4 win against Worcester, the Cincinnati Reds summoned up their star minor league shortstop and top prospect, who was ranked last month as MLB‘s top overall prospect by ESPN.
MLB Pipeline ranks De La Cruz as the No. 4 prospect overall. In 38 games at Triple-A Louisville, he hit.298 with 12 home runs and an OPS of 1.031.
De La Cruz joins the Reds before a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Great American Ball Park.
