Rhamondre Stevenson Alegedly Out For Few Weeks Due To Ankle Injury
With an ankle injury that may keep him out of action for the remainder of the season, New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson departed Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The high ankle sprain that Stevenson sustained will keep him out of action for “a few weeks,” according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. After a few weeks, the NFL may return in Week 16 or perhaps not at all. Week 14 is among us.
In the first quarter of the Pats’ 6-0 loss to the Chargers, Stevenson was hurt. A hip-drop tackle that knocked him down while he was rushing the ball snapped the ball free.
His ankle injury may have been caused by a specific movement, but after he was on the ground, other Chargers players landed on top of him.
Rhamondre Stevenson headed straight to the locker room after leaving the field with the assistance of trainers. After being demoted from doubtful to out, he never showed up again for the game.
X-rays taken of Stevenson’s ankle revealed nothing, according to Schefter on Sunday. However, an MRI is planned on Monday to ascertain the full extent of the damage.
It looks like Stevenson would not play for the Patriots again until 2024 as they approach the end of a 2-10 campaign. Trying to bring him back after a high ankle sprain, one of the toughest ankle injuries may not be the best course of action because he is only 25 and the Pats are presently engaged in a fierce competition for the first overall draft selection rather than a postseason position.
Caleb Williams, the quarterback for USC who is presently ranked as the first overall choice in the draft, is the only thing New England is vying for right now, other from their own dignity. And by the conclusion of the season, the Pats may feel it’s too dangerous to have Stevenson play since the only way to accomplish that is to continue losing.
