Rory McIlroy won’t receive; $3 Million Bonus
As this is a recently classified event by the Tour, Rory McIlroy’s choice to romp this week’s RBC Heritage tournament will cost the Northern Irishman $3 million in prize money.
This is because McIlroy decided not to contend in the Sentry Tournament of Champions. A PGA Tour event, making the tournament at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the second one to skip this season.
The RBC Heritage is uncomfortably planned on the PGA’s calendar since it invariably takes place the week after the Masters. In the past, many of the top players have chosen to forego the event.
Despite the cut being set at +4; Rory McIlroy had a difficult time at the Masters. And missed the cut after the second round, Rory also played horribly on Friday and Saturday following the restart of the second round.
Due to his early exit at Augusta National, the former world number one golfer will have to wait at least another year to complete the career grand slam. He had previously only won the other three majors, leaving him with just the Masters to achieve the feat.
Originally from Northern Ireland, Rory McIlroy plays golf professionally. He is considered one of the finest golfers in the world. And he has triumphed in many tournaments, including four major championships.

Off the course, McIlroy is well known for his charitable endeavors. He established the Rory Foundation to assist children’s charities worldwide.
