Sam Howell May Have To Start Today As Jacoby Brissett Injured
This week, the Commanders declared that quarterback Sam Howell will be benched in favor of Jacoby Brissett. And Howell will probably start now anyhow.
Multiple sources state that Brissett is battling with a hamstring issue and probably won’t be able to play against the 49ers today.
That would mean that Sam Howell would start. In the event that Brissett is unable to play, Jake Fromm, who was called up from the practice squad yesterday, would be the backup quarterback.
Though it remains conceivable that Brissett may perform better than anticipated in the pregame warm-ups and end up playing, it appears like Howell will get the start with less than six hours to go before kickoff.
When playing the Commanders, the 49ers are 14-point favorites. A Commanders victory would be a huge upset regardless of who begins.
