Seahawks Defense Devon Witherspoon Shines in 24-3 Victory Over Giants
The Seattle Seahawks defense put on a dominant performance on Monday night, sacking Daniel Jones 11 times and forcing three turnovers in a 24-3 victory over the New York Giants.
The Seahawks’ defense was relentless from the start, pressuring Jones early and often. Witherspoon’s interception return for a touchdown was the highlight of the night, but the entire defense played an outstanding game. Wagner, Brooks, Witherspoon, and Nwosu were all over the field, making plays and disrupting the Giants’ offense.
The Seahawks also held the Giants to just 248 yards and 6 of 16 on third down. New York, which was playing without star running back Saquon Barkley for the second straight game, struggled to get anything going on offense.
The Seahawks offense, on the other hand, had a few big plays but was inconsistent overall. Geno Smith threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to DK Metcalf in the first quarter, and Kenneth Walker III added a 1-yard touchdown run just before halftime.
However, the Seahawks also had a few turnovers and struggled to move the ball consistently in the second half.
Despite the Seahawks’ offensive struggles, the defense was able to carry the team to victory. The 11 sacks tied a team record, and the three turnovers were crucial in preventing the Giants from gaining any momentum.
The Seahawks improved to 3-1 on the season with the victory, while the Giants fell to 1-3.
