Panthers Almost Done Selling Bryce Young: Approaching NFL Draft 2023

According to the market news, Bryce Young of Alabama is the favorite quarterback for Carolina.

Peter King of ProFootballTalk stated in early April, “The momentum toward Young is real.”

“It would be no short of a shock within the NFL right now if Bryce Young does not go No. 1 overall to Carolina,” indicate widespread consensus that Young will be selected by the Panthers with the first pick.

While Young’s (5’10”, 204 lb) stature isn’t prototypical, his playmaking skills and pre-draft testing results are.

Bob McGinn of Go Long claims that on the S2 Cognition exam, Young got a perfect score of 98, whereas Ohio State’s C.J. Stroud only got an 18%.

That’s good news for Young and trouble for Stroud if your team puts a premium on academic performance.

“We’ve never had somebody grade low and play well.” This is in response to the S2 staff’s claim that “Hey, guys that graded high on this test don’t always play well.”

According to McGinn’s reporting, a club executive once commented.

It would indicate that the Panthers are among the clubs who place a premium on testing.

“I’m told the Panthers are one of the teams in the NFL that uses what is called an S2 Cognition test… And I confirmed from multiple sources that Bryce Young did very well on the test, put up a high number.”

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said on SportsCenter,

Even if the Panthers aren’t completely persuaded on Young as the superior option than Stroud or Florida’s Anthony Richardson, all signs point to Young being the preferred option, and one side may be leaking information in the hopes that Stroud will collapse.

The 88th annual NFL Draught is when teams in the National Football League (NFL) convene to choose rookies to join their rosters.

On April 27-29, 2023, the draft will be hosted in Kansas City, Missouri, on the plaza in front of Union Station (above shown in images and tweets).
