Adding a seasoned running back to the Patriots roster might still be interesting.

During his appearance on ESPN’s Sports Center on Wednesday, Jeremy Fowler asserted that the Patriots could be interested in adding another player to the running back room to partner with Rhamondre Stevenson. This was done through NESN’s Dakota Randall.

Although there hasn’t been any particular sign of New England’s interest, Dalvin Cook, a former running back for the Minnesota Vikings, has been mentioned as a potential choice for the organization. Cook had 8 touchdowns and 1,173 yards on the ground last year.

Early in June, the Vikings released him. Considering Cook is only 27 years old, he may be a viable option. If partnered with Stevenson, he would make New England’s running back unit one of the finest in the NFL.

Given that several free-agent running backs are still available, the Patriots might choose a far less expensive path. They won’t be short of choices when selecting; that is clear.
