The Ravens Allegedly Signed Melvin Gordon To A One-Year, $3.1 Million Contract
Gordon’s position in the Ravens’ backfield currently needs to be discovered. Gus Edwards has been a top option for rushing for the past few years, while J.K. Dobbins is in excellent shape. Jackson can also run from outside the backfield and is a constant threat.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the seasoned running back has allegedly agreed to a one-year, $3.1 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens. After playing 31 games for the Denver Broncos from 2020 to 2021, he most recently served as a Kansas City Chiefs practices squad member during the Super Bowl run.
Gordon, 30, is now a part of one of the NFL’s teams with the highest run usage. In the previous five seasons, Lamar Jackson started at least seven games for Baltimore and consistently ended in the top 10 in running attempts and yards. With new offensive coordinator Todd Monken, things could be different.

At least Gordon brings seasoned expertise to Baltimore. In his eight-year career, he has gained 6,462 yards running and scored 55 rushing touchdowns on over 1,500 occasions.
Recent fumbles have been a problem and contributed to his dismissal from Denver. He has 26 in his career, which is the most of any running back since 2015, including five in his past ten games with the Broncos.
Gordon, who previously lamented the status of the running back market, will be pleased with the deal. As he thought about the position’s future, he declared that running back is “literally the worst position to play in the NFL right now.”
He is now moving on to the Ravens, where he will have the opportunity to battle for a position on a club with postseason ambitions.
