Tom Brady To Be Engaged In Recruiting Process For Raiders Head Coach & GM
With the New England Patriots, Josh McDaniels collaborated with Brady for 14 years.
While those specifics are worked out, team owner Mark Davis wants retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady to assist him in selecting a new head coach and general manager. Brady may need to pay a lot more money than initially anticipated for his tiny ownership position in the Las Vegas Raiders.
Davis, dismissed HC. After consecutive defeats last week, Josh McDaniels, General Manager Dave Ziegler, and Offensive Coordinator Mick Lombardi were fired. Apparently, the nail that cracked the camel’s spine was a grievance meeting with Raiders players.
Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports stated that Davis is “expected to rely on team executives and potential owner Tom Brady for guidance on who should lead the team.” Davis is expected to appoint a general manager (GM) during the season and a player-focused head coach following it, following a package agreement last time.”
McDaniels, who spent 14 years in New England working with Brady, made an unsuccessful bid to introduce “the Patriot way” to Las Vegas.
It makes sense that some supporters would find Davis’ desire to include Brady in the selection of new leadership dubious.
Raiders’ coaching choices
Although Davis doesn’t always make sense decisions, Antonio Pierce, the Raiders interim head coach, seems like the ideal fit for the position.
Regarding their history, it’s doubtful, but uncertain if Brady had any influence over McDaniels’ termination. He was listed as one of the best coaches and general managers that the GOAT has ever worked with.
“To be fortunate enough to be drafted by the Patriots, I’ve had some amazing mentors throughout my football career,” Brady stated on the Dan Patrick Show the previous year. “I was with Mr. [Robert] Kraft, one of the best NFL head coaches in history—Coach Belichick, to be with one of the greatest owners in NFL history.
The list of coaches who have worked with general managers includes Scott Pioli, Jason Licht, Josh McDaniels, Charlie Weis, and Romeo Crennel.
