Given that 2023 will be his third season in the NFL, he thought the timing was off and declined.
Trevor Lawrence stated he was contacted about starring in the show, and Michael David Smith of ProFootball Talk broke the story.
“I was approached, I decided to not do it this year. I feel like it’s just not the right time for me. Maybe in the future. I watched the show, though. I thought it was great. I think they did a great job.”

In his brief career, the Jaguars player has been progressing. He assisted the club in making the playoffs in 2022 and was chosen to play in his first Pro Bowl. He also recorded his first postseason victory that year.
In the regular season of his second season in the league, he amassed 4,113 yards and 25 touchdowns.
The quarterbacks in “Quarterback” who don’t want to be there
The idea of Lawrence refusing to participate in the show’s second season has been discussed before. Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, voiced hesitancy about taking a position last Thursday, citing potential season-long “distractions.”
Another person who openly declined it was Dak Prescott, who said the buzz surrounding the Dallas Cowboys meant he had already received enough media coverage.
The series’ inaugural season we featured quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons.
