Trey Lance is Doing Everything: Achieving the Impossible

Trey Lance

Trey Lance is doing everything to achieve the impossible.

As Brock Purdy recovers from elbow surgery, his recovery time is uncertain. After undergoing two surgeries on his ankle last season, Trey Lance is back.

Last week, Lance said he had been cleared “a little over a month ago” and was “good to go.”

The general manager of the 49ers, John Lynch, stated on Saturday that Lance is entirely devoted to the group’s offseason training.

Lynch responded, “He’s been out there throwing, doing everything,” when questioned about the third-year quarterback’s health, according to David Bonilla of 49erswebzone.com.

Right now, the team still has Lance on it. Depending on how Purdy heals from surgery to fix the collateral ligament of the ulna in his right elbow, they may still deal with him at some point in 2023.

Sam Darnold, a seasoned quarterback, was hired by the 49ers as a backup, and they are currently looking to add a fourth quarterback.

“They’re looking to fill out everything with the [undrafted] free agents.” “We’d love to get a fourth guy here. We’ll see which one it is. But we’ll be all right, though, in the offseason when we get to training camp.” “Hopefully, we’ll get Brock back soon. But regardless, we’d love a fourth guy here. You never know how much we end up doing in the OTA sessions, but it’s been good having two guys out there just throwing. They’ve been on their own.”
